And that, my friends, is a wrap. What a year!

Here are some stats for you:

13 x rounds of Nivolumab

14 x blood tests

6 x skin checks

3 x PET scans

3 x Brain MRIs

2 x CT scans

1 x surgery

1 x gastroscope

I’ve tried very hard to maintain a ‘normal’ life schedule this year. It’s been difficult at times and certainly, I’ve been pretty tired much of the time. From here, the next phase of the meladrama is ‘surveillance’. This will look like scans every 3 months, skin checks every 6 months and regular catch ups with my Oncologist. As she said today “You’re going to be seeing my face for the next 5 years!” So whilst today is a pretty big milestone, I’m not free (yet). However, I’m now staring down 4 months of long service leave, where we’ll travel to Europe and Asia: we’ve definitely earned this one!

I’m going to put this blog on ice (like the G & T I’m currently sipping). Keep an eye out for the freshly resurrected travel blog 111 Days in Europe (it’s way more fun than this one!).

Thanks for your care and kindness,

Bel
